Lewisham Refugee and Migrant Network (LRMN) celebrated Refugee Week as the first Borough of Sanctuary in Deptford.

London dads strike for better paternity leave

Campaign group The Dad Shift are picketing from 3-4.30pm on Wednesday 11 June outside the Department for Business and Trade for longer and better paid paternity leave. 


The UK is described as having the worst paternity leave in Europe, with just two weeks off paid at less than half of the minimum wage and nothing for those who are self-employed.

Parkinson's rowing team in Greenwich take to the water

A Parkinson’s rowing group has received funding to take their indoor activities out onto the water. 


Rock ‘n’ Row for Parkinson’s Greenwich has received support from Active Thames to go out onto the River Lea monthly, beginning this April.


The group was formed in 2022 and gives people living with Parkinson’s the opportunity to row as a team, coached by professionals and experts trained in delivering exercise classes for people with the disease.

Brent Council held a skills workshop as part of its plans to tackle digital exclusion following the Covid-19 pandemic.


The workshop which took place on Wednesday 30 October in the Grand Hall at Brent Civic Centre, former a key component of the council’s 2022-2026 inclusion strategy.
